PayPal Option Removed from our ORDER CDs Page
05 Aug 2004
Since we haven't received a sale via the PayPal option on our online ORDER CDs page since 23rd December 2003, and given the number of unsuccessful attempts by our clients since then to purchase our CDs using this option, we have decided to remove the PayPal option until these problems can be resolved.
All clients who contacted us after unsuccessfully placing an order via our PayPal option eventually purchased their CDs with ease using our Australian dollar (AU$) option on our secure online ORDER CDs page. Below are some quotes from emails we received from client's attempting to place their order via our PayPal option. These problems could be attributed to the demographic we are marketing to, who may have had problems coping with the technology, especially with the process of having to open a PayPal account initially to make their purchase along with the associated 'security' process that goes with it.
However, our problem was that we had no way of testing the PayPal option ourselves to periodically check that this option function correctly, and when we have addressed our issues with PayPal, we never received what we would consider a satisfactory response or solution from them. Until a satisfactory result can be achieved, unfortunately the PayPal option will remain removed from our ORDER CDs page.
The PayPal option was originally added to our ORDER CDs page to cater for those clients who had difficulty wrapping their minds around buying our CDs using a foreign currency. It was also our intention to make your shopping experience with us as easy as possible by adding an option for you to purchase our CDs using your own currency. We regret we are not able provide this service at present. Those who made unsuccessful attempts at ordering our CDs using the PayPal option were very surprised at how easy it really was using our AU$ option to place their order. For further information re purchasing our CDs using a foreign currency, check out our newsletter dated 10th May 2003 titled Purchasing our CD's using a Foreign Currency. This is part of an email we received from one of our clients who ordered CDs from the USA:
..... the real job is to acquaint others with the ease of purchase. Lots of older folks in this country who like this music think that Australia is a long way from home, and many who are reluctant to use a credit card on the Internet regard sending money out of the country as a bigger chore than it is. And they don't realize how responsive you are and how well the mail works. By my experience, you're faster than Amazon.com.......
Although CD prices are displayed and processed in Australian dollars on our secure ORDER CDs page, your credit card allows you to purchase our CD's in your own country's currency and the equivalent value in your currency will be charged to your credit card account, and this equivalent amount will show on your credit card statement.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank those clients who persisted with their orders, and drew our attention to the problems they were experiencing with using our PayPal order option. Without your contact we would have never known we had a problem with our PayPal option.
TYPICAL EMAILS WE WERE RECEIVING:
